Después de mucho tiempo pensando en escribir este post, en diciembre ya por fin me propuse no subir nada nuevo y que esta sería la primera entrada del blog que publicaría este año y escribir sobre la forma que me parece más cómoda y sencilla para cuidar y mantener las piezas y que mejores resultados me ha dado.
MANTENIMIENTO Y CUIDADOS:
PLATA, LATÓN Y ALPACA:
Para mantenerlos brillantes lo mejor es guardarlos alejados del aire, que es lo que hace que se oxiden y se vayan oscureciendo. Lo mejor es guardarlos envueltos en papel o dentro de una bolsa de tela cuando no se usen y de vez en cuando frotarlos solamente con un trapo o un pañuelo de papel para evitar que se vaya acumulando el óxido y que se oscurezcan. Así se pueden mantener brillantes durante mucho tiempo, pero si durante una temporada no se han usado y se han terminado oscureciendo, lo mejor para recobrar sus brillo original es limpiarlos con un trapo o un pañuelo de papel empapado en limpiametales y utilizar un cepillo de dientes en las zonas a las que no se llegue con el trapo y después sacar brillo con un paño limpio.
CUERO:
Nutrirlo con crema hidratante. También se puede usar crema hidratante cuando al tenerlo guardado ha perdido su forma y queremos que la recupere y no se doble. No es recomendable bañarse con él ni mojarlo.
PIEDRAS SEMIPRECIOSAS:
No requieren ningún cuidado especial. Limpiar con agua y jabón si por algún motivo llegasen a mancharse y secar muy bien si llevan alguna pieza de metal porque el agua, al igual que el aire, cuando se seca, también lo oxida y oscurece.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE:
SILVER, BRASS AND NICKEL SILVER:
In order to maintain our silver, brass and nickel silver jewellery shiny we need to store it away from natural sunlight and air, which is what cause it to tarnish and turn dark, and wrap it in paper or inside a cloth bag when not in use and rub it occasionally with a cloth or tissue to prevent it to tarnish. This will keep it shiny for a long time, but if we have not used it for a while and it has become dark, the best way to restore its original shine is to clean it with a cloth or a tissue dipped in metal polish and use a toothbrush in the áreas that we can not reach with the cloth and then buff with a clean cloth.
LEATHER:
Nourist it with a moisturizer cream. Remove your leather jewellery before showering and swimming.
SEMI-PRECIOUS STONES:
They don't require any special care. Clean with wáter and soap if stained, and dry carefully any metal part of the jewel to avoid tarnishing.
