Irregular . Baroque stone

All the pieces from the winter collection are made using a different stone combination, and the different textures and colors of semi-precious stones is what give each piece its own personality. That's why I like so much the baroque and raw stones, because there is no one like any other and every combination make each piece unique.

Mantenimiento y cuidados . Care and maintenance

PIEDRAS SEMIPRECIOSAS:

No requieren ningún cuidado especial.

I've been procrastinating writing this post for months, but in december I finally decided not upload anything new and that this will be the first post of the new year and write about how to care and maintain jewellery pieces so they always look as they were manufactured and designed.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE:

SILVER, BRASS AND NICKEL SILVER:

In order to maintain our silver, brass and nickel silver jewellery shiny we need to store it away from natural sunlight and air, which is what cause it to tarnish and turn dark, and wrap it in paper or inside a cloth bag when not in use and rub it occasionally with a cloth or tissue to prevent it to tarnish. This will keep it shiny for a long time, but if we have not used it for a while and it has become dark, the best way to restore its original shine is to clean it with a cloth or a tissue dipped in metal polish and use a toothbrush in the áreas that we can not reach with the cloth and then buff with a clean cloth.

LEATHER:

Nourist it with a moisturizer cream. Remove your leather jewellery before showering and swimming.

SEMI-PRECIOUS STONES:

They don't require any special care. Clean with wáter and soap if stained, and dry carefully any metal part of the jewel to avoid tarnishing.

Meredith Frampton

Rarely comes to my mind the word perfection, but that was just what happened to me this summer at the Tate Modern staring at this painting of Marguerite Kelsey by Meredith Frampton painted in 1928. And I can't think of anything better to say about the painting but the information panel text that was by its side:

"The precision of Frampton's style belongs to the inter-war period. Following an academic method, he posed his model with great care and required perfect light in which to paint. He gave almost as much care to the resolution of the still-life as to depicting the sitter, whose clothes are at once classical and deliberately modern. For all his realiance upon the reality before him, Frampton's inclusion of a magnolia flower suggests the ruffling of the calm surface by hidden desires."

Cara B . B-Side

There is always a B-side collection, pieces that are diferents from the style of the current season and that I don't usually upload to the web or Facebook, but this doesn't mean that I don't like them or I find them less interesting. They are pieces that are born spontaneously in the workbench when I find accidentally a new combination of stones or when i'm working in a bespoke order, like the four pendants in the picture above, that this time, unusually and taking advantage of this blog, I'm posting.

Otoño/Invierno 13/14 . Autumn/Winter 13/14

Just at the turn of the new year, in January, it will be twelve years since I started to set up my first workshop, and in the Autumn/Winter 2013/14 Collection I looked back in time  to rescue some of the most successful pieces in these twelve years but mixing them with some new designs and adapting them to the new materials and styles from my latest collections.
