Desde 1952, la Joyería Grassy ocupa los bajos de uno de los edificios más emblemáticos de la Gran Vía Madrileña, al que con el paso de los años ha terminado dando nombre.
Su fundador, Alejandro Grassy, descendiente de una familia de orfebres milaneses, nace en Argel, se establece primero en Río de Janeiro, después en Paris y Biarritz y llega a España en los años 20. Grassy abre su primer negocio en Madrid en el número 29 de la Gran Vía, la Unión Relojera Suiza, en 1929 y veinte años después es cuando la firma abre su actual sede e inaugura el Museo de Relojes Antiguos.
Grassy, además de vender en sus tiendas las grandes marcas internacionales de alta joyería y relojería, también crea sus propios diseños y colabora con reconocidos diseñadores y artistas plásticos españoles.
