Adornos navidadeños . Xmas decor
Christmas is, you like it or not, a special season, a happy time for some people and a sad time for others (and a combination of both feelings for the most of us). A time of the year that, when we tear up the wrapping paper and open the presents, always take us back to the Christmas dinners of our childhood. And above of it all, a time of preparations and waiting: the eternal impatience that as childs we expected the toys and watched adults, from early in the afternoon, fussing in the kitchen and opening tables and bringing tablecloths and tableware out before dinner. And the tree, the tinsels and stars are the first of all the preparations, coming even first than Christmas itself. And as a child i was always fascinated with those boxes full of shiny objects waiting at the top of my parents' bedroom closet that changed the house for a few days from the boring daily routine, like a promise that life could be more than the school ugliness and the intense cold outside the windows.
And this year i created these christmas decoration with all those memories and some leather, antique buttons, crystal beads, freshwater pearls and semi precious stones.

Memoria . Memory
Obviously i could not resist using the ivy leaves like a model for the new collection.
And now they have become part of this brass and semiprecious stones necklace ... but probably will be more pieces with ivy leaves ... a metallic and golden memory of something delicate and ephemeral.
Colgantes O/I '13 . A/W '13 Pendants
Algunos colgantes de la Colección Otoño/Invierno 2012/2013.
Some pendants from the Autumn/Winter 2012/2013 Collection.
Crecer . Grow
The little branch that i managed to save when the old ivy that was surrounding the entrance at my parents' house was cut off, is growing stronger, and from having only a couple of leaves, the whole stem is covered now and tiny stalks are coming out from it that hopefully will grow new born leaves.
And after spending all day surrounded by concrete and cars, seeing how a tiny stem slowly becomes a leaf is something that allways amaze me. And in this artificial world that we live in few things can compare to the beauty of seeing a single leaf grow and feeling all the strength of nature in something so close and ordinary.
