   Aunque trabajar con encargos me permite desarrollar bastantes diseños diferentes, me hubiese gustado poder experimentar un poco más con las piezas de esta colección, pero estoy preparando ya las de la nueva temporada de invierno y todas estas ideas por desarrollar tendrán que esperar algún tiempo hasta poder ser retomadas en alguna nueva colección.

   Working on bespoke orders allows me to develop many different designs in each collection, but although I'd like to experiment a little more with the pieces of this season, I have to start preparing the new winter collection and all these new ideas to develop will have to await for a future collection.

P/V 2014 . S/S 2014

 

    La idea de la colección Primavera/Verano 2014 surgió a principios de este año y sin pensar que podría desarrollar de ella toda una colección, pero hasta el momento es la que ha ido creciendo de forma más fácil y natural y que más me ha ido sorprendiendo con cada pieza. Nunca antes los bocetos al pasarlos a metal se habían adaptado tan bien a piezas que han sido técnicamente complejas de realizar, pero con un resultado de una apariencia tan limpia y definida, y que a pesar de partir de sencillos diseños en dos dimensiones, consiguen jugar con el volumen al unirse a piedras semipreciosas de diferentes formas y tamaños.

   The idea for ​​the Spring/Summer 2014 collection was born at the beginning of the year, but I never thought that it could be developed as an entire collection, but so far is the one that has grown more easily and naturally and has surprised me more with each piece. Never before when I have passed sketches into metal they had combined so well in pieces that are technically complex to perform, but with a result so clean and strong, that from a simple two-dimensional design grows to an interplay of volume when semi-precious stones of different shapes and sizes are added.

Verano 2014 . Summer 2014

      Aunque llevo ya varios meses dibujando y preparando la nueva colección, es en estos primeros días de sol después de tantas semanas de lluvia y cielos nublados, cuando me doy cuenta de lo cerca que estamos de la primavera y de lo poco que queda ya para la presentación de la nueva colección Primavera/Verano 2014.

   Although I been drawing and preparing the new collection for several months already, is in these first days of sunshine after so many weeks of gray skies and non stop rain, when I realize how close we are to spring and the new 2014 Spring/Summer Collection.

Sin tallar . Raw

   "Raíces y ramas, que sumando sus pequeños tallos, se agarran con fuerza a la tierra. La estrategia de la araña, que con finos hilos ata y vuelve a atar, hasta que consigue una cuerda gruesa y resistente"...  

    Mientras preparo la nueva colección, he rescatado una de mis colecciones clásicas, la COLECCIÓN ARACNE, en estos colgantes donde, solo con la sencillez de los hilos de latón, se unen las piedras sin tallar, como recién sacadas de la tierra, en este caso, dos de mis preferidas, el cuarzo rutilado y la aguamarina...

  "Roots and branches, that adding their small stalks, cling strongly to the land. The strategy of the spider, weaving and reweaving with thin thread, until it gets a rope thick and tough"...

   I'm preparing the new collection, but in the meantime i have rescued one of my classic collections, the ARACHNE COLLECTION, with these pendants where the simplicity of the brass wire lassos the raw aquamarine and rutilated quartz stones, like if they were taken directly from the earth as they are right now...

Memoria . Memory

   Como no podía ser de otra manera, las hojas de la hiedra también están sirviendo como modelo para la nueva colección.

   Obviously i could not resist using the ivy leaves like a model for the new collection.

   Y de momento han pasado a formar parte de esta gargantilla de latón y piedras semipreciosas... pero seguramente habrá más piezas con hojas de hiedra... una memoria metálica y dorada de algo frágil y perecedero.

   And now they have become part of this brass and semiprecious stones necklace ... but probably will be more pieces with ivy leaves ... a metallic and golden memory of something delicate and ephemeral.

Madera de nuevo . Wood again

   No puedo evitar asociar el calor del verano y la luz del sol colándose a raudales por las ventanas del taller con el olor a serrín recién cortado y al barniz de las piezas ya terminadas secándose sobre la mesa de trabajo, y aunque de momento las únicas piezas de madera de la Colección Primavera/Verano 2012 son estas pulseras de piedras semipreciosas, seguro que no serán las últimas.

   I can't help but always associate the summer heat and the sun shining through the workshop windows with the smell of freshly cut wood and with the varnish scent coming from the already finished pieces waiting to dry on the desk, and may be at the moment the only wood pieces from the Spring/Summer 2012 Collection are these semiprecious stones bracelets, but i'm quite sure they won't be the only ones.

Brazalete . Cuff

   Cuando se acaba una colección y empieza una nueva siempre hay un momento de experimentación en el que partiendo de la antigua colección van naciendo otras formas que poco a poco van diferenciándose cada vez más hasta tomar su propio camino y crear algo completamente nuevo. Es un periodo para dejarse llevar y sorprender por las piezas que poco a poco van inundando el taller, un momento de tranquilidad para meterse bajo tierra, descansar de la rutina y aparecer meses más tarde con algo diferente y nuevo.
   Y siempre es especial la primera pieza de la nueva colección, la que abre el camino a todas las demás. Como este brazalete de latón, coral esponja, perla de agua dulce y fluorita, la primera pieza de la nueva colección.

   When the last collection ends and the new one starts, there is always a time of experimentation where the new forms born from the former collection, little by little, make their own way and create something completely new. This is a time to let yourself go and be amazed by the pieces that are slowly covering the workshop, a quiet time to go underground and disappear to emerge later with something different and new.
    And the first piece of the new collection it's always special, the one that opens the way for all the others. Like this brass, sponge coral, freshwater pearl and fluorite bracelet, the first piece of the new collection.
